Meet Dr. Jessica Smith

Within the field, Dr. Smith particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She chose dentistry because it allows her to combine her passion for science, healthcare and working directly with people in a tangible, hands-on way. She loves making a noticeable difference in the lives of her patients on a daily basis. Her care is sometimes even life-changing, and one patient who had previously avoided visiting the dentist out of shame once thanked Dr. Smith for giving her 20 years of her life back. Dr. Smith cherishes this memory and how it demonstrates her goal to restore patients’ confidence and dignity while bringing joy into their lives.

Dr. Smith lives by the motto, “Rooted in family, focused on smiles.” A favorite part of her job is the opportunity to create long-term, trusting relationships with patients and help shape their overall health as well as their dental health.

Dr. Smith has been married to her husband, Allen, for over 20 years and they have two kids together, Rilynne and Jackson, as well as two Bernedoodles, Bodie and Magnolia, who will one day—with more training—serve as the future emotional support dog for Magnolia Family Dental.

Outside of work, you can find Dr. Smith spending time with her family and friends, biking, exploring downtown Richmond, traveling and taking road trips and singing in the car. She is an avid movie watcher and foodie and loves fire pits, playing card games and watching local high school sports games. Dr. Smith is very involved at Hope Point Church, where she sings on the worship team and serves several Sundays a month. Dr. Smith also enjoys attending her son Jackson’s baseball games, Friday night light football at Manchester High School and her daughter Rilynne’s Touch of Swing and Capital Swing performances.
